Genetic testing

Most provinces in Canada have access to publicly-funded genetic testing programs and centres. Usually, the centres require a referral from your doctor or medical professional to qualify. Careful deliberation between you, your family and your genetic counsellor will help you understand the risks and benefits of being tested, and decide what is right for you.
