Join Canadian Virtual Hospice and emcee Dr. Cory Ingram, Mayo Clinic, on Friday, October 18 for the 3rd Innovation Challenge at the McGill International Palliative Care Congress.
The record-breaking 57 submissions from 14 countries were peer-reviewed and six finalists were chosen to showcase their palliative care innovations in a high-energy, “Dragons’ Den” style competition.
If you’re attending Congress, don’t miss these six innovators compete head-to-head for the title of International Palliative Care Innovator of 2024 and the $1000 CAN cash prize from Canadian Virtual Hospice. Be part of the live voting that helps our panel of distinguished judges select the winning innovator!
NOTE: Please bring a mobile device for voting along with earphones/headphones if you require translation. Simultaneous translation will be provided in English and French.
The Finalists:
- Dr. Andréanne Côté, Université de Montréal, Canada – Creation of the play “Si un jour je meurs” (If One Day I Die)
- Dr. David Wu, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, United States – Sharing the impact of environmental care team on patient experience through film screening and education for healthcare staff
- Erin Das, Global Treehouse Foundation, Kenya – A customizable data tool co-designed with global children’s palliative care providers to enhance understanding and improve services
- Julia St Louis, SickKids Hospital, Canada – Reality Check: Using virtual reality social support for adolescents living with serious illness
- Dr. Richard Leiter, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Rachel Rusch, Children’s Hospital Colorado, United States – The Palliative Story Exchange
- Sarah Scott and Terri Milton, Valley Hospice Foundation, Canada – Grief Library: Sending resources of healing to rural Nova Scotians
