Ottawa, ON – September 16, 2015 – CCSN was honored to welcome Premier Kathleen Wynne and leader of the Ontario NDP Andrea Horwath to our annual legislative reception, which was held at Queen's Park in Toronto. This event highlighted the challenges faced by prostate cancer patients and their families and the increasing number of treatment options that provide a good quality of life while living with this disease.
The event was once again hosted by Ann Hoggarth, MPP for Barrie, who opened the event. She was followed by Stuart Edmonds, VP of Prostate Cancer Canada, who spoke about access to medication as well as PSA testing.
He was followed by 3 prostate cancer survivors: David Brittain from Ottawa, Paul Henshall from Brampton, and Mike Preston from Toronto. The 3 men each told stories about their personal journies with cancer and how they triumphed over their disease.
