This quality standard addresses care for adults age 18 and over who are living with, through, and beyond a cancer diagnosis (cancer survivors). The quality standard focuses on the assessment, management, and follow-up care of cancer survivors in Ontario.

Quality standards are designed to improve care in Ontario and target priority areas in need of improvement. They help:
- Patients, families, and care partners know what to discuss about their care with their clinicians;
- Clinicians offer the highest-quality care based on the best available evidence;
- Health care organizations and clinicians measure, reflect on their practice, and improve the quality of their care; and
- Health system planners create an environment for clinicians and organizations to deliver high-quality care.
