Description: This presentation will explore how prostate cancer and its treatments can impact bone density and strength. Endocrinologist Dr. Akshay Jain will provide patients and families with practical knowledge on preserving bone strength, the role of bone-targeted therapies, and the importance of timely monitoring.
Biography: Dr. Akshay Jain is the first Canadian physician to be triple-board certified by the American Boards in Endocrinology, Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. In conjunction with BC Cancer Agency, Dr. Jain has spearheaded a nationally-recognized bone health program for patients with prostate cancer. His work in this field led to him receiving the Fraser Health Health Innovator Award. He practices in Surrey, BC.
