African Cancer Support Group (ACSG)

African Cancer Support Group (ACSG), is a program of The Oladele Foundation, a Canadian registered charity. Provides culturally responsive cancer support services to individuals and families affected by cancer, with a focus on African, Caribbean, and Black communities across Canada.

Founded on lived experience and professional expertise, ACSG addresses critical gaps in psychosocial support, navigation, education, and culturally grounded care. We work at the intersection of cancer care, mental health, and equity, ensuring that no one faces the cancer journey alone.

We provide a full range of holistic community-based supports:

  • Culturally adapted counselling and emotional support
  • Peer support groups for patients, survivors and caregivers
  • Patient navigation and healthcare system guidance
  • Culturally appropriate food and nutrition programs
  • Cancer education, early detection and screening outreach
  • Lived experience advocacy and stigma reduction
  • Dedicated caregiver wellbeing and burnout support

Our Mission

To provide culturally responsive cancer support, education and advocacy that improves the emotional, mental and practical well-being of patients, survivors, and caregivers.

Our Vision

Equitable, culturally safe cancer care and support will be accessible to all people across Canada.
