This webinar was titled: New Directions in Drug Approval in Canada. The webinar was hosted by 3Sixty Public Affairs’ Bill Dempster. It examined how new treatments are reviewed and approved for sale in this country, with a particular emphasis on Health Canada’s regulatory modernization initiative. It was also an opportunity to discuss patient involvement in Health Canada reviews as well as the special access program.

Bill Dempster, co-founder of 3Sixty Public Affairs Inc., is a seasoned health and pharmaceutical policy expert who works with a range of clients to navigate complex political, policy, regulatory and reimbursement challenges.
John-Peter Bradford is Executive Director of LSTN (Life-Saving Therapies Network), a network of patients, advocate groups, oncologists, researchers, industry players and others. LSTN (say it fast = LISTEN) has a singular focus: to provide thought leadership and educational resources for network members about reforming regulations for approval of and treatments for lethal diseases; reforming clinical research
protocols… and the need for timely reimbursement of effective treatments for lethal diseases on a nationwide basis. He is a Member of the Research Advisory Group of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer, the Advocacy Committee of Lung Cancer Canada and the Cancer Care Advisory Committee of the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. He is also an advisor to Patients Canada, the national Canadian patients association… and authored Journeys in Cancerland, with Lise Newman, in 2010.
