Virtual Care Can Complement, but not Replace In-Person Care

Virtual appointments with your doctor including video calls, phone calls, text messages and emails have been the new norm ever since the start of Covid-19. However, this method of contact has a major impact on a patient’s ability to effectively communicate their symptoms and concerns.

According to our Leger survey on the Impact of COVID-19 Crisis on Cancer Patients and their Ability to Receive Treatment – Wave 2, most virtual appointments have been phone calls, which means that patients are unable to visually communicate their symptoms to their doctors or receive physical examinations.
