National Indigenous Peoples Day

On June 21st, Canada celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day. This day is the culmination of Indigenous Peoples Month, which honours the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.  We at the Canadian Cancer Survivor Network wanted to highlight the need for the Indigenous Cancer Strategy put forth by Cancer Care Ontario.

We pay respect to all Indigenous people in this region and from all nations across Canada. We acknowledge the traditional knowledge keepers, both young and old and we honour their courageous leaders: past, present, and future.
