Join CCSN’s All-Party Cancer Caucuses in these two provinces!
Are you interested in being part of the Canadian Cancer Survivor Network’s All-Party Cancer Caucuses at the Ontario legislature in Toronto or the Alberta legislature in Edmonton?
The objectives of the two All-Party Cancer Caucuses will be to:
- Bring together MPPs/MLAs from all parties, CCSN and patient and caregiver representatives two to three times a year to discuss issues related to cancer and healthcare in Ontario and Alberta. These issues may include those raised by patient and caregiver representatives, CCSN or MPPs/MLAs themselves. Part of this discussion will be looking at solutions of issues and how to actualize changes or solutions
- Provide training to patient and caregiver representatives to ensure a level playing field. The objectives of this training include increasing the ability of patients and caregivers to interact with politicians and other decision makers and increasing their skills to make presentations about issues important to them.
- We are looking for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers to participate actively in these two caucuses. We encourage patients living anywhere in the provinces of Ontario and Alberta to apply. CCSN will cover the cost of training, travel, accommodations and meals for those travelling from outside of Toronto or Edmonton.
If you are interested, please contact CCSN President & CEO Jackie Manthorne at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Note that training through webinars given by Ryan Clarke of Advocacy Solutions will start late this spring and the first All-Party Cancer Caucus in each province held this fall.
