The Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians (CAPT) – Responding to COVID-19 Pandemic
At this time of unprecedented challenge to the public health system in Canada, the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians (CAPT) has decided to postpone the annual conference that was planned for May 22-24, 2020 in Halifax Nova Scotia. CAPT is planning on rescheduling the conference for May 2021 at the same venue and will announce the new official dates once they become available.
This decision was reached based upon the latest medical opinions and on the recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada. Limiting travel, social distancing and avoiding gatherings of large groups were the key factors in the decision taken by CAPT.
CAPT will be refunding all the conference fees received.
The hotel has offered to automatically cancel all booking that were done based on the room block for the CAPT conference. However, if travel was booked using external sites (such as Travelocity, Hotels.com, Expedia etc.) these arrangements will need to be canceled with those services directly.
As the COVID-19 situation continues to rapidly evolve, pharmacy professionals are playing an increasingly important role to support and maintain the best care to patients and the communities. CAPT would like to recognize the hard work of all pharmacy professionals. Some heroes do not wear capes, they wear lab coats, scrubs and uniforms.
