OTTAWA, ON – The Canadian Cancer Survivor Network (CCSN), along with the Save Your Skin Foundation and the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario, is happy to announce the date for the 2nd Annual Drug Pricing Policy Summit. The two-day event will be held in Toronto, Ontario on November 15th– 16th, 2017.
The theme for the 2017 edition will be “Measuring Progress and Making Our Mark”.
“We are thrilled to be able to announce the date for the 2nd Annual Drug Pricing Policy Summit.” said Jackie Manthorne, President & CEO of CCSN. “The first event was very well-received and we believe that everyone in attendance gained some benefit. We look forward to hosting another Summit in 2017 in order to continue to allow patients, patient advocates, caregivers and groups from all disease and disability areas to come together and examine how they can meaningfully participate in and influence regulatory, public and private drug pricing policy processes in Canada.”
The inaugural Summit allowed event attendees to:
- Learn more about the current drug pricing policy landscape in Canada, its key players, and opportunities for change within this system;
- Engage in dialogue with varied stakeholders to identify shared issues and opportunities for collaboration;
- Begin developing a Blueprint for Action by identifying actionable items and next steps in the short, medium and long term, and by forming working groups to carry this work forward;
- Continue strengthening the individual and collective voices of patients, patient advocates, caregivers and their groups to be more meaningfully involved in and change the future of the drug pricing processes and policies in Canada.
