British Columbia Ministry of Health
The goal of the British Columbia Access Strategy is to make improvements in organization, structure, patient management, health system accountability, and governance to improve healthcare and shorten wait times for cancer patients. Visit the province’s website for information on the strategy plan and the benchmarks for wait times in British Columbia.
The Manitoba Health web page provides an extensive outline of the province’s cancer care wait times for radiation therapy and surgery for different cancers.
New Brunswick Health provides annual information on how the province is meeting its wait time benchmarks. The reports reflect the percentage of patients who are being treated within 4 weeks.
Newfoundland and Labrador Health and Community Services
Newfoundland Health and Community Services started providing wait time information in 2007. Reports provide data on how well the province is meeting its benchmarks and the average number of days it takes for patients to begin treatment.
Northwest Territories
Patients with cancer in the Northwest Territories are often referred to the Cross Cancer Institute in Alberta for treatment. This means that wait times in the Northwest Territories not only rely on their own healthcare system, but also on the system in Alberta. Benchmarks have been set in both Alberta and the NWT and patients with cancer can expect to be treated within four weeks.
Nova Scotia Health and Wellness
The Nova Scotia Health and Wellness web page has a categorized list of wait times available to the public. Their cancer wait time section includes the wait times patients can expect, depending on where they seek treatment.
Nunavut
There is currently no public information about wait times in Nunavut. If you have questions about wait times in this territory, please speak to a healthcare professional or call (867) 975-5766.
The Government of Ontario partners with Cancer Care Ontario (CCO) to implement the province-wide Wait Time Strategy. This strategy ensures that patients are getting the care they need in a safe and manageable time, while setting a standard for medical professionals in the province.

Quebec Health and Social Services
The Quebec Health and Social Services web page offers a variety of information on wait times in French and English, and lists the wait times, number of patients operated on and number of patients waiting for procedures/care.
Health PEI has a section with wait times for cancer related treatments.
The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency has created a resource on their web page about wait times. The page includes a FAQ with general information about wait times as well as a section that outlines the benchmarks for the province.
Yukon
Yukon does not have a web page that outlines their wait time statistics. For information, visit the Yukon Health and Social Services website here.
