About CCSN

CCSN is a leader in patient participation in health care, with a mandate to educate the public and policy makers about cancer survivorship; validate the patient voice in health care decision-making and engage in research on ways to alleviate barriers to optimal cancer care in Canada.



The Social Media Coordinator will:

  • Utilize CCSN social media channels to involve and support patients, survivors, caregivers and community in public policy
  • Develop and implement patient, survivor, and community communications strategies through the use of, but not limited to the website, CCSN webinars, Slideshare, e-newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, blogs, press releases and other external communications



Co-Ordination / Organization

  • Administer daily social media/communications operations
  • Ensure that all materials are developed and posted according to an appropriate timeline
  • Be able to provide editing support to other staff
  • Help develop and maintain the communications and social media plan and strategy

Social Media

  • Organize and host webinars, including scheduling, working with expert speakers, conducting pre and post webinar marketing and publicity, and tracking statistics
  • Manage 12 twitter feeds, including training and supervising volunteers and other staff who can take responsibility for some twitter feeds
  • Post to all other social media: Slideshare, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Blogger
  • Measure the effectiveness of the Canadian Cancer Survivor Network communications and social media and produce reports for internal analysis; adjust strategy as needed
  • Understand and use social media form and format requirements

Other duties as assigned



  • Several years experience in charge of social media, preferably in a not-for-profit organization
  • Able to use all relevant software and apps to implement the listed communications & social media: list these in cover letter
    • ex: TweetDeck, mailchimp, GoToWebinar, SurveyMonkey etc
  • Experience supervising volunteers/interns
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • French language skills an asset
  • Understanding of health issues in Canada
