Date Held: Wednesday, June 26, 2019, 12:00-1:00 PM
The federal Advisory Council on the Implementation of National Pharmacare chaired by Dr. Eric Hoskins recently released its final report recommending a phased implementation of a national universal, single public payer pharmacare program. It proposes the implementation of an essential medicines list by 2022 and a comprehensive national formulary by 2027.
Dr. Wong-Rieger will start the webinar by reviewing the key findings of the Hoskins report and present the results of CORD’s first pre-election survey conducted entitled “Developing a National Drug List”. This will be followed by a discussion with patient group advocates who will share their perspectives on building a national formulary. What key principles should be driving its development? What should be the core elements of this formulary and what best practices need to be considered? Finally, Dr. Wong-Rieger will facilitate an interactive question and answer session with webinar participants.
