The needs of transgender and gender diverse people in our healthcare system

Join Dr. Stéphanie Madill, Ph.D., along with a member of the navigation team, who discuss their research which investigated the experiences of trans and gender diverse people across Saskatchewan accessing healthcare.

The objective of this free online training is to:

  • Empower healthcare professionals with effective communication tools for discussing a person’s gender and treatment preferences.
  • Provide education on the specific healthcare needs of transgender and gender-diverse people.
  • Enhance cultural safety principles and promote acceptance of gender diversity.
  • Address the challenges encountered in rural healthcare settings.
  • Explore the effects of the healthcare system, including in cancer care, and the actions of individual healthcare providers on gender affirmation.
