Presented by Conrad Eder, CCSN’s Public Policy Analyst; Patient Advocates: MaryAnn Bradley, Deborah Peniuk, Andrea Redway, and Diane Van Keulen.
Throughout April, CCSN virtually met with MPPs throughout Ontario to discuss our COVID-19 and Cancer Care Disruption Survey – Wave 2. Our survey confirmed that measures in place to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic have continued to negatively impact cancer patients and pre-diagnosis patients’ ability to access cancer care services. We were fortunate to be joined by patient advocates who shared the challenges that they have experienced with accessing cancer services during the pandemic. In our meetings, we discussed the importance of ensuring that cancer patients receive the first and second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and what needs to be done going forward to manage the backlog of cancer surgeries and procedures.
During this webinar, CCSN’s Public Policy Analyst Conrad Eder will share some of the key takeaways from our meetings and take a closer look at the Ontario data from our survey. We will then hear from our patient advocates MaryAnn Bradley, Deborah Peniuk, Andrea Redway, and Diane Van Keulen.
