Canadian Cancer Society – Eat to the Beat

Entering it’s 23rd year, Eat to the Beat is a mecca for urban foodies who come to experience the best Ontario’s culinary scene has to offer. It is the only event in Canada that exclusively features the talent of 60 female chefs – women supporting women through the challenges that come with a breast cancer diagnosis.

Stroll through Roy Thomson Hall and enjoy bite-sized portions of specially crafted, savoury and sweet dishes, along with wine, beer, and a selection of non-alcoholic libations from the finest beverage purveyors.

New this year, we have the Up and Coming Chef Challenge presented by KitchenAid®, featuring talented female chefs from five of Ontario’s prestigious culinary schools. We are thrilled for this opportunity to support a new generation of female chefs who are emerging in the industry. Plan to visit them at the Mezzanine level to taste the culinary treats they have created and cast your vote for your favourite dish! The Up and Coming chef who receives the most votes will be given a KitchenAid® prize package.

Also new this year, we are hosting an exciting online silent auction with Givergy silent auction technology. Be certain to visit our online auction site and register to start bidding! Items will be available for you to see in person at the event.

Back once again are our favourite Corset Ladies, a group of supporters and survivors who design and wear beautiful, food-themed corsets.  The Ladies will be circulating through the event, interacting with guests and selling raffle tickets for a chance to win one of three amazing prizes!

And don’t forget to purchase your mystery bag – remember back to your childhood when you always wanted that surprise bag? You’re all grown up now, and so are the prizes in the mystery bags!

History

Eat to the Beat was founded as a fundraising event for Willow Breast & Hereditary Cancer Support (Willow) by Lisa and Abigail Slater, sisters and business women who were inspired by the courage and strength of breast cancer survivors and the many people whose lives they knew had been affected by the disease.

The funds raised at Eat to the Beat will go directly towards supporting breast cancer support services. To learn more about these services, please visit cancer.ca.

We look forward to seeing you at Eat to the Beat! Buy your tickets now – limited amount available. Early Bird tickets are available at only $159 until September 21 (regular price $189). To make it even better, KitchenAid® is generously donating $30 for every Early Bird ticket sold* to enable us to support more women living with breast cancer.
