Carol Hanna (1968-2013)

Carol Anne Hanna died peacefully at age 45 after a long and storied battle with cancer at the North Shore Hospice.

At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her loving husband (David), father (Dave) and sister (Diane) and felt the love of her extended family and friends as she passed from this world to the next.

Many thanks to all the staff at the North Shore Hospice who cared for her and her family graciously and tenderly over her long stay with them.

Carol was predeceased by her mother Julia and survived by her only daughter Charlotte.

Carol was a passionate and courageous soul who inspired those around her through acts of kindness, love and unrelenting generosity. Loving and open with people, educated and accomplished in her profession, Carol was a true hero who faced each day with renewed hope and joy. She helped those around her to believe in themselves and reach out to achieve their dreams. She found great joy in simple things including her garden, cooking good food, knitting, a tipple of scotch, a strawberry sundae, and spending time with friends.

She will always be remembered as a free spirit, whose greatest joy came from motherhood and her daughter, Charlotte. Carol’s love for her will be forever with us. A memorial service wase held at Highlands United Church in North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations can still be made to the North Shore Hospice Society.
