The main function of the Curriculum Development Committee is the development, review, evaluations, continuous improvement, and recommendation of curriculum for in person/online learning for patients, which has been approved by the Board of Directors.
The Canadian Cancer Survivor Network imagined a curriculum which is flexible and responsive to the needs of cancer patients seeking to prepare themselves to participate in decision making opportunities within the health and related systems, which are becoming more available, and those patients wishing to advocate with policy makers their views on best practices in the patient’s lived experiences in Canada’s Health System.
The Curriculum Development Committee considered the costs of the learning platforms, opportunities for funding, the need to make the curriculum relevant on a number of platforms, self-directed learning, to be available on mobile devices and computers, and to keep pace with advancements in applicable learning theory and digital systems.

Ryan O’Meara
Ryan O’Meara is a quality reviewer at Health Canada who completed his undergrad in Biology and received Ph.D. in neuroscience. Ryan was nominated by the thesis examining committee for the best Ph.D. thesis award. In addition, Ryan is experienced in teaching university subjects in biochemistry and biology. As well, he contributed to publications of various scientific textbooks and articles.
Colla Jean MacDonald
Colla is a distinguished professor of Ottawa U. Colla has a special interest in curriculum design, evaluation, and eLearning. She was invited to present her learning frameworks across Canada and in many other countries. She has published over 70 articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. Colla supervised many Ph.D., MA, and post-doctorate students.
Peter Wilton
Peter is a Senior Consultant at Hill+Knowlton Strategies who received his MSC in Biotechnology and in Applied Health Services Research. Peter has a background in biotechnology and public engagement. He has worked at developing his skills in digital communications and project management. Peter loves complex challenges, working under pressure, and learning about new technologies. Always interested in discussing project evaluation, digital health, or anything outdoors or baseball-related.
Marie-Terese Little
A medical researcher and published scientist, Dr. Marie-Terese Little holds a B.Sc. and Ph.D. (1996) in Reproductive and Developmental Sciences and Experimental Medicine. Marie was a staff scientist at the Fred Hutchinso Caner Research Center and she worked on novel pre-clinical and clinical trials for non-myeloablative bone marrow transplantation. Marie is a founding member and president of 4th Dimension Research Communications. Dr. Little applies her academics and scientific skills to a variety of global communications projects.
