We are looking to interview patients who have completed their primary treatment for cancer and are preparing to return to work.
To take part in this study, you must meet the following criteria:
- Completed primary treatment or will complete your treatment within the next month. Your treatment may have consisted of surgery, radiotherapy, and / or chemotherapy
- Have taken a leave of absence from paid employment because of your cancer diagnosis and / or treatment with an intention to return to work, but have not yet returned to work
- Survivors of all cancer types are eligible
- Survivors with active disease post-primary treatment are eligible for participation in this study if their cancer is being managed as a chronic condition and they meet the above criteria.
As part of this study you will be asked to participate in three separate interviews with a researcher in the Nova Scotia Health Authority. These interviews will be conducted either face-to-face or via telephone. Each interview, will last approximately one hour. The first interview will take place after the end of primary treatment. The second and third interviews will take place at three months and at nine months after the first interview.
